In 2025, you can check the core update three times on Google's official Search Status Dashboard. The most recent December 2025 core update is ongoing and can take up to 3 weeks.
*The time on the dashboard is in US/Pacific notation, so the date looks off in Japan time
(Example: 12/11 09:25 PST = around 12/12 Japan time).

First of all, the main premise: "helpful / people-first" is the most important
Core updates are the best way to make them usefulto readers rather than relying on specific techniques.
Whether the article was created for "the reader" rather than "for search". This is the axis.
Check to be close to the reader (even beginners can do it)
- Is there a conclusion first: At the beginning, you can say "what you will learn from this article" in one or two lines .
- Does it have primary information: "Your information" such as testimonials, procedures, verifications, photos, and numbers
- Are you relieving your anxiety: Frequently asked questions (Q&A) to clear up your doubts
- Know who wrote it: Author profile and operator information are available and reliable
- Is it easy to read: The headline is organized and the preface is not too long .
5 > measures
1) First, check if the update is complete.
This is all I have to do first. Check the Start and Finish dates in the Search Status Dashboard.
2) Do not analyze immediately after completion. Wait at least 1 week
Google recommends waiting at least one week after the core update is complete for analysis in Search Console.
3) Identify "Where You Fell Off" in Search Console
There are only two points to see
- Fallen page (top page)
- Dropped search terms (top queries)
If it is a small decline, do not touch it too much, and only dig deep into the big decline, which is the official idea.
4) Stop quick fixes and make improvements that are meaningful to your readers
Google says that it avoids rumor-based minor fixes such as "this seems to be bad for SEO", and makes reasonable improvements for users, such as readability and understandability.
5) Effects may not appear immediately (days to months)
It clearly states that even if you make improvements, it may take a few days or months to take effect, and in some cases, you may have to wait until the next core update.
if you want to fix it right away (example of improvement for beginners)
- Organize your headings: "Conclusion → Reason → Procedure → Precautions"
- Keep the beginning short: Write "What is it in the end?" before the introduction
- Add a specific example: Include one screenshot, procedure, or actual example .
- Added FAQs: "When to decide?" and "What should I see?" Answer
- Specify author information: Keep experience, achievements, and contact information in a visible position
summary
- Wait until it's over
- Wait 1 week after the end
- View Dropped Pages/Queries in Search Console
- Improving the content rather than being a small trick (to be useful to readers)
- Reflection takes time
This is the basic way to proceed according to Google's official guide.
